Video released Tuesday by the Boston Police Department shows a large piece of scaffolding falling outside of South Station last week, nearly hitting several people.
The material fell near an entrance to the busy transportation hub at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
Officials did not immediately provide a narrative about exactly what caused this incident.
JLL, the real estate company that runs the One Financial building across the street, confirmed Wednesday that the plank fell from that building's roof.
"We are relieved that no one was hurt and there was no damage to any neighboring buildings," JLL said in a statement. "The contractor has removed all scaffolding planks to ensure there is no further threat to public safety, and we are continuing to work with the proper authorities to determine any additional necessary remedial action."
NOTE: An earlier version of this story incorrectly indicated the scaffolding plank fell from the South Station Tower, which is also under construction.
