The Pittsburgh Steelers are finally headed back to the ‘Burgh after a two-game road trip for their 2024 home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers. It should prove to be a low-scoring matchup (with plenty of the unders hitting, sports bettors!) with two of the best defensive units in the league going toe-to-toe.

Here are a few of our favorite Steelers-Chargers player prop bets for the Week 3 showdown.

In his Week 1 return from a preseason hamstring injury, the Steelers limited Jaylen Warren’s reps substantially, but that didn’t stick for long after another week of good health, totaling nine carries in Week 2. Even last year playing behind Najee Harris, Warren hit this over in 16 of 18 games played.

This will be a low-scoring, defensive matchup which should prove as run-heavy as they get. Smash the over for the third-year RB.

Kicker fans, get ready. This should be a game of field goals. Chris Boswell has arguably been the team’s most valuable player this season, having scored 25 of the team’s 31 total points this year. The Chargers' defense has faced a league-low two red zone plays this year per PFF, and while a part of that is certainly due to the quality of their competition (against the Raiders, Panthers), I’m not convinced the Steelers are offering all that much more to contend with in this showdown. Boswell is tied to lead the league for the most field goals attempted this year (8) and has made 100% of them.

The Steelers’ bend-don’t-break defense should rally in this spot for their home opener, and that’s especially true with the possibility of facing Easton Stick or a less-than-100% Justin Herbert. Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker has made each of his five field goal attempts so far this season, including a 53-yarder in Week 1. Expect this offense to settle for the field goal more often than they’d like in this low-scoring affair.
