The Woodlands headlined District 13-6A baseball honors released earlier this week after winning the district championship in decisive fashion this season.

Senior Brayden Sharp is 13-6A's Most Valuable Player. Sharp, a University of Tennessee signee, was the Highlanders’ No. 1 pitcher and batted lead-off in the lineup.

Sharp hit .453 with 24 RBIs, 10 doubles, 15 stolen bases and a .531 on-base percentage in district play. On the mound, the lefthander was 3-0 with 54 strikeouts to 14 walks and an ERA of 0.59 in 26 innings pitched.

Grand Oaks junior outfielder Parker Blackman is the 13-6A Newcomer of the Year. In district play, Blackman hit .480 with four triples, a home run and seven stolen bases with a .581 on-base percentage.

The Woodlands coach Ron Eastman is the 13-6A Coach of the Year. Eastman led the Highlanders to a 14-2 record in district play. The Woodlands had a plus-92 run differential in 13-6A.

The Highlanders won the district by three games over Oak Ridge, which finished in second place at 11-5. Grand Oaks and College Park each wrapped up at 10-6 to round out the four postseason qualifiers.
